A healthy diet consists of consuming the Right fats (not strictly low fats). Healthy fats are essential for our well-being.

Good fats include monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which come mainly from plants and fish.

Examples include:

  • Nuts
  • Fish
  • Olive oil
  • Avocado

Bad fats include trans fats, which are created by an industrial process to solidify vegetable oils. Remember to AVOID the trans fats and limit the saturated fats.

Examples include:

  • Fried foods (french fries, doughnuts, fried chicken)
  • Fast food
  • Commercial baked goods (cakes, pies and cookies)
