3 Simple Words: EAT. MORE. PROTEIN.

When you eat real foods with a high satiety factor, you are able to eat less of that food and still be satisfied. This is why you should power up with protein!

Protein provides satiety more than carbs or fats alone do. People who eat more protein at one meal, such as breakfast or lunch, tend to feel more satisfied and eat less at the next meal.

Another protein perk is that it’s uncomfortable to over-eat high-protein foods but if you do, your body does not convert excess protein into excess fat as easily as it does dietary fats and carbs. Also, you burn 30% of the calories in protein just by digesting it (your body uses more energy to break down protein).

Great sources of lean protein include:

  • fish
  • seafood
  • chicken
  • milk
  • greek yogurt
  • eggs
  • nuts
  • beans
